THE 7 POINT AGENDA:
The aim of this government is to deepen democracy and the rule of law, build an economy driver by the private sector. Display zero tolerance for corruption, re-structure and staff government with individuals who possesses the right skills to ensure efficiency and good governance. The 7-point Agenda defines the framework for policy implementation to transform Nigeria by accelerating economic growth and reforms within the country to make a concrete and visible difference to ordinary people. The success of President Umaru Musa Yar’dua’s administration will be judged by its achievement of the 7-Point Agenda.
Nigeria has the potential to become one of the 20 largest economics in the world by the year 2020. The strategy to achieve this aim is outlined in the country’s vision 20:20 supported by the 7-point Agenda.

Currently work is on-going and detailed plans will be developed for all aspects of the 7-point Agenda with key sector leads from the office of the chief economic adviser to the president and the national planning commission. The section leads will continue to work with individuals within the various ministries. Departments and agencies (MDAs) including key stakeholders within the business community to implement the various policies.

In order to lay a solid foundation for enhanced understanding of the mechanisms through which the Federal Government plans to actualize the objectives of the 7 Point Agenda, over the next few weeks, we shall publish an exposition detailing the vision, expectations, responsibility and impact points of the agenda.
